2011年2月22日-26日：オーストラリアへの旅 まとめ
■25日、学校見学の後は、パパがドライブに連れて行ってくれました。地理的にどのコースを辿ってくれたのか、正確に思い出せないので、いまマシュー君に問い合わせ中です。
After the school tour on the 25th, Dad took me to the drive. I'm not sure which course I followed geographically, so I'm contacting Matthew right now.

■本当に楽しい滞在でした。パパやママはお疲れだったのではないでしょうか。お客様がいるというだけで気疲れしますから。皆さんのおかげで私たちは、リラックスして毎日を過ごすことができました。
It was a really enjoyable stay. Dad and mom would be tired of our entertainment. The host family can be tired just because there are customers. Thanks to you, we were able to relax and spend every day.
パパは仕事を休んでくださり、私たちに付き合ってくれました。フォードにお勤めのパパは、長年に渡りオーストラリアでのフォード車の生産に関わってきました。オーストラリアで一番のシェアを持つのは、やはりトヨタだそうですが、複雑な心境でした。
ママは銀行にお勤め。制服姿はなかなか素敵でした。
Daddy took a break from work and was with us. Dad at Ford has been involved in producing Ford vehicles in Australia for many years. It seems that Toyota has the largest share in Australia, but as a Japanese I had a complicated feeling.
Mom works at the bank. The uniform was very nice.
大家族というのは、日本では稀な存在になってきました。ジョーンズ家のような大家族、しかも固い絆に結ばれた家族の素晴らしさを、改めて感じました。人間生きていく上での基本は、やはり家族です。家族こそは港なのです。どんなに長く、遠くへ航海に出かけても、帰ってくるところは港です。港が破壊されれば、永遠に漂流し続けなければならなくなります。
Large families have become rare in Japan. I once again felt the splendor of a large family tied to a strong bond like the Jones family. The basics of human life are family. No matter how long and far you sail, your return is at the harbor. If the harbor is destroyed, it must drift forever. Family is the port of life.
我が家も今年の春からは、のんが社会人となり、すでに一足早く社会に出たあやと協力しあって生活しなければなりません。たくは大学院に入学し、新たな夢に向かって歩み始めます。
From the spring of this year, Non became a member of society as a doctor, and Aya, who had already started working as a nurse, had to cooperate and live together in Nagoya. Taku enters law school and begins to pursue a new dream.
のんが社会人になり、何かホット一息ついた、というのが正直な感想です。まだまだ働き続けなければなりませんが、これからの残された人生を、どのように過ごしていくのか。自分なりに夢を持ち、それを追いかけていかないと、日々追われているだけでは、もったいないのです。
My honest impression was that Non became a member of society and I was relieved. I still have to keep working, but how to spend the rest of my life is important. Unless you keep your dreams and follow them, just being chased every day will make your life meaningless.
これからの人生を改めて見つめ直すチャンスを与えてくれたジョーンズ家のみなさんに、心から感謝するとともに、お互いの家族がこれからも全員健康で活動し、交流をさらに深めていけたら幸せだな、と心から思いました。行くまでは正直気が重かったこの旅も、帰ってみると、行ってよかった、と心から言えることに感謝しています。本当に有難うございました。
Thanks to the Jones family for giving us a chance to look back at our future life. I sincerely wanted to keep the two families healthy and active, and to deepen the exchanges between them. Before going out, I was worried about this trip, but when I returned to Japan, I really felt good to go to Australia. Thank you very much.

パパの運転で楽しいドライブでした。家族３人素晴らしい天候のもと、肺の隅々まで洗われる思いでした。
It was a fun drive thanks to Daddy's driving. The family was refreshed with all the great weather.
のんが大好きなオーストラリアのパパ。何でそんなにパパのことを好きなのか、ちょっとやきもちを焼いたりしましたが、お会いして納得しました。本当に心の広い大きな人柄。私では太刀打ちできません。
Non loves the Australian dad. I baked a little bit about why she likes Daddy so much, but I met him and was convinced. Dad is a really big person with a big heart. I can't compete.
移民としてご苦労され、ご夫婦で今の地位を勝ち取ってきたパパは、優しさと強さを持ち合わせた方です。のんは良いホームステイ先に当たったね。
Daddy is a man of kindness and strength who has struggled as an immigrant and has won the current position with the help of the couple. Non was able to meet a good homestay family.
公園の分別収集のゴミ箱。オーストラリアは動植物の持ち込みに大変厳しく空港でのチェックは厳重でした。
ファーブル昆虫記に関する本を読んでいて、ビックリしました。オーストラリアはかつて牛でしたか、ヨーロッパから持ち込んだものの、その糞を処理してくれる糞虫がいなかったために糞が処理されず、土地は荒れ耕作が出来なくなる、大変な事態になったそうです。結局ヨーロッパから糞虫も輸入することで、自然のバランスが取れるようになったのです。
そんな歴史があるためか、動植物の輸入には大変厳しいのです。
It is a garbage bin that is separately collected in the park. Australia was very strict about bringing in animals and plants, and checks at the airport were strict.
I was surprised to read Fabre Insect. Australia once brought cattle from Europe, but there were no dung beetles in Australia to process the dung, so the dung was not processed, and the land became rough and cultivation was no longer possible. In the end, importing dung beetles from Europe has helped to balance nature.
Because of that history, importing animals and plants into Australia is very difficult.
パパは持病があって、万が一の時に掛かり付け医が少しでも近くにいた方が良い、というアドバイスをされているようです。いまのお家より街に近く医師も近住するこの地域に土地を買われたそうです。
いずれは引っ越すとのことでした。
Dad has been advised that the attending physician should be as close as possible in case of a seizure. Daddy said he bought land in this area because he was closer to the city and closer to the doctor than the area where he lives.
Dad said he was going to move.
隣の敷地に住む方が飼っている馬。その馬が目の前でウンチをしました。ジャックが大はしゃぎ。
A horse owned by a person living on the adjacent site. The horse defecates in front of us. Jack is excited.
